by Cheryl Saunders

Constitutional lawConstitutions

This edition provides a brief history of the way in which the Australian Constitution came into effect. It sets out the text of the Constitution with notes to explain the effect and operation of each chapter and each section. It concludes with a copy of the Australia Act 1986 (Commonwealth). This Act and a British Act in effectively identical terms secured the full legal independence of Australia from the United Kingdom.
