"The In/Outsiders is the First Comprehensive Survey of the Israeli mass media, their history and political status. The authors offer a combined informative and analytical survey of the media institution and of the complex relations between media and politics in Israel. This book focuses on the ambivalent relationship between communication and politics in a relatively young and fragile democracy. Discussions focus on three key channels of communication: the press, radio, and television, which are also the three main mediators in modern society."--BOOK JACKET.
