The topiary garden

A short story originally published in *Badger on the Barge*, here lavishly illustrated by Anthony Browne. Camping with her father and brother at a motorcycle rally, young artist Liz Jackson meets an old woman named Sally Beck who disguised herself as a boy in her youth and worked as a gardener's assistant at Carlton Hall.
