Miranda (**Miranda Hart**) is an unconventional woman. She's six feet tall, self-conscious, posh and is frequently mistaken for a man but she is happiest amongst the wind-up teeth of her Joke Shop. Having invested her inheritance to buy a joke shop but realising she has none of the organisational skills to run the place, Miranda partners up with her friend Stevie (**Sarah Hadland**). All the while Miranda is trying to learn about retail men and dealing with her outrageously embarrassing mother (**Patricia Hodge**). Though surrounded by chocolate willies, Miranda is determined to suss out what it takes to be a girly girl and to not look a complete idiot every time she meets the gorgeous Gary (**Tom Ellis**) and to persuade people to take life a little less seriously.
