Historicism is one of the main research fields of Fulvio Tessitore (see the important series of Contributions published for the Editions of History and Literature). In these two volumes, the author concentrates on Italian historicalism - from Cuoco to Cross, from De Sanctis to Leo Caetani - and then to his relationship with German Historismus, from Dilthey to Meinecke, from Cassirer to Auerbach.
