The Archive contains about 150,000 individuals with approximately 300,000 biographical entries, and due to the nature of Jewish history and the accomplishments of Jewish individuals throughout the world and from all ages, the Jewish Biographical Archive has no national or geographical limits. With few exceptions, most reference works with extensive biographical information on Jewish individuals have been published since the end of the 18th century. The final year of publication of source works used for the archive is 1948, the year in which Israel was founded.
