The work Utopian and Scientific Socialism is not an independent work of Engels. This booklet is made up of three selected chapters from a complete book of essays titled 'Herr Eugen Dühring's Revolution in Science', published in German in 1877. The first publication was in 1880, in French, by the translator Paul Lafargue. From this translation, the booklet was translated into English, Polish and Spanish. In 1883, this booklet was published in German from Zurich. However, it was not a translation, but was made up of selected parts from the original book. It was republished in German from Berlin in 1891. The translation of this edition was published in Italian, Russian, Danish, Dutch and Romanian. Engels wrote this booklet in English, and it was published in 1892. This edition, translated into Bengali from this original text, was first published by NBA in 1969.
